In December 2008, the business was purchased by Shayai Lucero. During the past eleven years, she has created Earth & Sky to become an up and coming leader in floral art creativity with a Native American influence. By attending floral classes, assisting top floral designers at shows, following top international designers and even obtaining a floral mentor from The Netherlands, Shayai makes sure the designs from Earth & Sky are unique to fit each recipients personality or event.
Although Shayai has been designing full-time for just a few years, she has received statewide and international recognition for her floral designs. She was recently awarded a floral industry award by Smithers-Oasis Floral Products for a wedding bouquet she created. Her wedding bouquet inspired a print and online ad representing the 2017 Wedding Season. She also participates in the Spring floral show for the Albuquerque Biopark and Botanical Gardens. She has been recognized internationally by the floral industry for a Native American wedding. She was also commissioned in 2019 by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to create the “Native Warriors” wreath to commemorate Native American Heritage Month. The wreath was laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Solder at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC.
Earth & Sky is now a home based floral studio specializing in everyday, sympathy and event/wedding floral designs. We also open up the studio for holidays such as Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. We are a Native American Woman owned small business located on the Pueblo of Laguna reservation. We are truly an independent florist and pay no fees to wire floral services. Each design is one of a kind and we accommodate any budget. Our immediate delivery area includes the Laguna, Acoma, Seboyeta, Cubero, San Fidel and Tohajillee areas. We deliver to the Albuquerque metro area and to Grants (along I-40). We have delivered and created nationwide, as well. We accept orders and payment over the phone.
